I am inspired by transformation.  Transformation of nature in the turning of seasons every few months, transformation of creatures from infancy to adulthood and the transformation of humans that can happen in so many ways over the course of time.  Spiritual transformation is something that I love to witness in people and is one of the reasons I decided to train to become a certified spiritual director. Spiritual transformation happens in different ways and seasons for everyone.  Spiritual direction can help light the way to understanding this transformation. 

 

Light is a strong metaphor in the Christian tradition.  In the Bible, light has always been a symbol of holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, grace, hope, and God's revelation.  “God is light”, says 1 John 1:5.  Jesus says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).  The Holy Spirit illuminates the minds of people, makes us yearn for God, and takes spiritual truth and makes it understandable to us.  The Triune God is light!

 

In my spiritual direction practice, I desire to come alongside others as they experience transformation when they encounter the Triune God at work in their daily lives.  Together, we will explore how the Holy Spirit can illuminate the way to a better understanding of who they are in Christ.
